The ModenaFiere Exhibition Centre was established in 1989 by local institutions in close collaboration with the most representative trade associations and co-operatives of the province.
That year BolognaFiere and Modena and Ferrara local and economic authorities have realized the first European example of a fair polycentric metropolitan system of three cities who shares an economic and cultural reality of the top level, with dynamic planning, concreteness operational, research capabilities, experimentation and entrepreneurship.
In 1995, when Modena had already become a fully-fledged member of the exhibition system, it was decided to establish Modena Esposizioni Srl, a company owned by BolognaFiere, as majority partner, the Municipality of Modena and PRO.Mo, a consortium of all the business institutions of Modena.
In 2008 was approved the change of business name from Modena Esposizioni to ModenaFiere srl and a capital increase from 200 thousand to one million and 700 thousand Euro. In the new corporate structure have joined two new partners, before present just indirectly through PRO.Mo.

Pavilions are connected with a functional services gallery covered with a glass cusp, which overlook the logistic services of the exhibition center and joined with the complex entrance-ticket offices.
The outdoor area, which can be accessed through 4 driveways for access by service vehicles and goods to be exhibited, is properly served by a rational modular system of distribution of the various services.
When the outdoor surface of the pavilions isn’t used for exhibitions, it can act as parking for cars with a special badge exhibitors and visitors.
The electronic ticket office integrated system with 8 distribution points and controlled entrances it’s leading in small and big fair events manage.
Suitable premises in central gallery are designed for being used ad exhibition secretariat, press office, general direction of the fair ground, technical office, secondment of firemen and the companies permanently doing maintenance and assistance services in the fairground.
6000 car places are distributed all over the fairground and are available for the visitors.
Among which 700 are covered by a modern photovoltaic plant.
Facilities and their features
Pavilions are provided with a new internet connectivity system with wired and wireless technology and equipped with a distribution network of the various utilities (water – electricity – telephone), enveloped through a modular floor channeling based on a mesh of junction boxes.

Exhibition pavilions are protected by an intrusion detection system, a smoke detector and a water supply firefighting.
Air conditioning is ensured from a system studied for minimizing the impact on the environmental quality and ensuring the best comfort to operator and visitors. Refrigeration system, smoke extraction system and replacement air complete the fairground’s endowment.

ModenaFiere, the largest congress center in the entire Modena area, offers endless opportunities of spaces’ use: business meetings, exhibitions-convention, open-house, business dinner, contests, etc.
